Review: A Puppy, Not a Guppy

[Reading Time: 2 – 2 minutes]

Irma’s parents won’t let her have a puppy. “They chew on furniture and tear up house slippers,” they say. One day Irma’s friend Jimmy brings over 3 goldfish. His had babies and if they don’t find a good home they will be flushed down the toilet. With the gentle encouragement of her mother, Irma learns there is more to the guppies than she first thought.

What a charming story! And yes, I read this to myself, by myself and enjoyed every minute. Everyone can learn a little something from Irma and her guppies.

Written by Holly Jahangiri and illustrated by Ryan ShawA Puppy, Not a Guppy is a delightful story and is a recommended read for anyone who has, knows, or has ever been a child.
